Dear Belmont Neighbors--

I am contacting you on behalf of Clark Elementary PTO to let you know about
our upcoming Clark Super Achiever 5k Run/Walk through Belmont to benefit the
Clark Educational Opportunity Fund.   This is a great opportunity to join
neighbors and friends in a lowkey, fun event that draws a wide spectrum of
people to Belmont.

The race date is September 26 and the course starts and ends at Clark
Elementary, Belmont Avenue side.  The course remains open to traffic
(usually light at 8 on Saturday) but police and volunteers help at
intersections; jogger strollers welcome but sorry, no dogs.  Race info and
registration available at www.clark5k.org ; if interested it is best to sign
up soon to guarantee a striking yellow tie dye shirt for race day (order
goes in *Sept 6*) so register now for the best deal.  Registrations can be
mailed or dropped off at the school office, our office (Siteworks behind
Tavola, left side) or Ragged Mountain Running Shop at the UVa corner.
Registration on race day starts at 7 AM.  Age group prizes and grab bag
prizes awarded.

We are also looking for volunteers for race day, mainly light/short duration
duties, helping guide runners through the streets along the course.  If

Preregistered volunteers will be eligible for a one special grab bag prize
drawing after the race.

We anticipate there will be a short interruption of traffic at the 8 Am
start in front of the school on Belmont Avenue and minor interruptions at
other intersections during the race to allow large groups through.  Please
see the course map at the above web site for further information.  We
appreciate your patience and care in sharing our streets that morning;
please also look out for the Clark Road Warriors running club, who will be
training for the race after school in the next few weeks.  Thanks!
