[Bcna-announce] BCNA meeting June 8th

Dear Residents,
The next BCNA meeting will be this coming Monday, June 8th. It will take
place at the usual locale of Clark Elementary.
We will get underway at 7pm.

This weeks agenda will cover:
-The re-zoning of 814 Hinton.
-Discussion on existing traffic and noise issues in "downtown" Belmont and
possible solutions.
-Any other concerns you may have for the Belmont-Carlton area.

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the CIty Council meeting this past
Monday. I have been doing some homework on what happened and am disappointed
in the tone of the meeting. It is unfortunate that elected officials have
chosen to ignore the neighboring resident's and Planning Commission's
concerns and allowing for another presentation of the applicants lawyer. It
is my understanding that the public forum is closed at this time and the
added presentation seems to undermine what should be an un-biased approach
to re-zoning. I encourage anyone with concerns on this matter to e-mail city
officials.

For those of you who would like to be more involved with the BCNA there are
several board positions that need to be filled.
We are looking for folks to fill the VIce President and Treasurer positions.
I would also like to find someone to help manage web content. If any of
these positions interests you please shoot me an e-mail and we'll bring it
up at this coming meeting.
