*ODOR CONTROL MEETING -- SEWER PLANT*

RWSA Headquarters Bldg on Franklin St

Hey Everybody-

As many of you know, we've had chronic and serious odor problems with the
sewer facility on Franklin for several decades now. We've been known as a
stinky neighborhood for far too long-- booo!

The Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority would like to meet with *as many of us
as possible* on January 27th from 6-7pm.  The purpose of this meeting is to
discuss the new odor control measures the plant will be putting in place.
The residents of the Belmont-Carlton neighborhood have been invited as
well.  The RWSA going to let us know the scope of this project, what we can
expect, and their projected time-lines.  Additionally, they'd like to inform
us about any impacts the construction might have on the surrounding
neighborhoods.

I encourage all of you to attend this meeting.  It's been a long uphill
climb to reach this point, and it couldn't have happened without the active
involvement of the Woolen Mills neighborhood.  This is definitely a step in
the right direction, but it's not over until ALL our concerns are addressed,
including the pumping station next to the park.  So please come out, ask
questions, and make your voices heard.

P.S. If you haven't been there:  Just drive under the Franklin St culvert,
straight through the 4-way stop.  The entrance will be down about 100 ft
down on your left.  Follow the signs for visitors to the HQ Bldg, and take
the elevator to 2nd Floor.
