[Bcna-announce] BCNA meeting Monday April 14th

Dear Neighbor,
The monthly BCNA meeting is upon us. As usual, we will meet at Clark
Elementary at 7pm this monday.  The Agenda will include the following:
- I have met with Asst. City Mngr. Maurice Jones and city Traffic Engineer
Jeanie Alexander to review some options for upgrading       Belmont Park. I
believe there are some effective, cost efficient solutions  that will raise
awareness of pedestrians and drivers to increase safety around the park.
This will be a follow-up to last months meeting regarding the traffic around
Belmont Park.

-Belmont resident,Ned Ormsby, is organizing a stream clean-up and
re-discovery of Pollock's branch, the small stream that starts at the IX
building at Elliot and terminates into Moores Creek at Jordon Park at the
bottom of 6th Street.  He is planning to hold the clean-up on April 25 from
9-12 AM, the Saturday after Earth Day. Ned will be coming to Monday's
meeting to discuss the details of his project.

-Officer L.C. Gibson 46 of the Charlottesville Police Dept. is planning to
attend the upcoming meeting. As one of Belmont's district officers he will
be available to answer any questions or listen to concerns you may have.

-As always, please feel free to come to the meeting to voice any of your
concerns or ideas that you have for the Belmont-Carlton area.

The director of communications, Ric Barrick, has passed along several good
bits of information regarding Charlottesville's environmental and small
business news. You should find those in the attached files. If you can't
open them please let me know and I will try to re-send them to you. The
files are very small and shouldn't be a problem.
