Jesse Fiske was voted in as the new BCNA president by acclamation. He is a
member of the Hackensaw Boys. He lives on Elliott Avenue.

Thanks to Chris Gensic for a very dedicated term as BCNA president.

No traffic update.  We will get one for both our list of projects from a few
years ago and the sidewalks that may be constructed in this budget cycle.

In development, there were these notices:

*The proposal for development at Druid and Monticello (on the Green Earth
Realty site) should be brought to the Planning Commission soon

*The tall building proposed near Beck-Cohen may be stalled or abandoned due
to financing issues.

*The Rivanna Trail segment between Rives and Quarry is finished.



*The lights at the Clark school lower playground are going to be replaced
with a style that does not glare off the property.

We met Bruce Odell, the representative from the Alliance of Neighborhoods
Federation, which as a City/County group wants a Belmont representative.  It
was pointed out that the City and County will benefit by simply sharing
information in a discussion that is more open since there is no direct
City/County government interaction. They also discussed how to transfer the
funds we are holding, which Paul Brant will work out with John Sweet, BCNA's
treasurer.   Our impromptu representative , Jeff Snyder, has attended a
recent meeting of the ANF. We will be discussing the pros/cons of joining
the Alliance in future meetings.



Free home energy improvements are available for lower-income households. The
program is being sponsored by the Virginia Department of Housing and
Community Development.
